Pro Displays: How do I update projector firmware?

Note:
You can use a standard USB memory stick (FAT format). Do not copy any other files to the USB memory stick. Do not change the firmware's file name. If the file name is changed, the firmware update will not start.

Note:
It is normal operation for the projector to boot up with all fans at full speed when in this mode.

1. Check the current firmware version from the OSD menu.

   

2. Power the projector OFF and disconnect the power cable.
3. From a computer, place the downloaded firmware file at the ROOT directory of the USB memory device
4. Remove the USB memory stick safely from the computer.
5. Insert the USB memory stick into the USB A port of the projector.
6. Note: For the EB-L series, this is the USB port located under the filter cover where the EPSON WLAN unit would be installed.
7. With the power cable removed, hold down the Power button.
8. Whilst holding the power button, insert the power cable.
9. Once the following light sequence is displayed, the power button can be released.


10. The firmware update process will start, the firmware file is transferred from the USB memory stick to the projector.
11. When the firmware update has been completed the projector will return to a standby state. Power the projector on and check that the firmware version has been updated from the OSD menu.

You can transfer the firmware file via a USB A to B cable to the projector.

1. Check the current firmware version from the OSD menu.
2. Power the projector OFF and disconnect the power cable.
3. Connect a USB Type A to B cable between the projector and the computer. The USB Type A needs to be plugged into the computer whilst the USB Type B connector is connected into the Type B port of the projector.
4. With the power cable removed, hold down the Power button.
5. Whilst holding the power button, insert the power cable.
6. Once the following light sequence is displayed, the power button can be released.

   Note:
   It is normal operation for the projector to boot up with all fans at full speed when in this mode.

7. A mass storage device will appear on the connected computer, copy the firmware file into this location.
8. When the firmware file has been transferred perform the 'Safe to Remove Hardware' process.
9. Disconnect the USB A to B cable from the projector and if necessary, the computer.
10. The firmware update process will start, the firmware file is transferred from the USB memory stick to the projector.
11. When the firmware update has been completed the projector will return to a standby state. Power the projector on and check that the firmware version has been updated from the OSD menu.

EasyMP Network Updater is an application that allows you to update firmware for a projector over a wired LAN. You can also schedule when the firmware updates will take place.

Once you select a projector's menu settings, you can use EasyMP Network Updater to copy the settings to multiple projectors of the same type in a batch setup operation.

To enhance security, you can prevent unauthorized access to EasyMP Network Updater by locking the application and applying a security password.

The Epson Projector Management software allows you to check the status of multiple networked projectors and perform various projector operations from your computer

• Monitoring the status of projectors

  You can check projector information such as the power status, errors, warnings and you can be immediately alerted to any projector abnormalities. You can also select individual projectors or projector groups to check detailed information such as the usage hours of the projector light source, the current input source and any current errors or warnings.
