Our hiring process

Diversity is important to us, and we welcome people with a broad spectrum of skills, knowledge, and experience. To ensure we find the right person for the job, we use a variety of selection methods, including personality and ability assessments, case study exercises, and competency-based interviews.

Our selection process varies by job and business area, but you'll always have a recruitment specialist to guide you through each step. If you're invited for an interview, we'll provide details on the full process for the role.

Depending on the position, the selection may include competency-based questions, online behavioural and ability assessments, finance and Excel testing, or a task or case study. These tools complement formal interviews, offering additional insights into your work style to ensure the right person is selected for the job and Epson.

For more information check our FAQs or should you wish to discuss any reasonable adjustments contact our recruitment team at recruitment@epson.eu.

Initial conversation

If selected, you'll be invited to a phone interview or Microsoft Teams chat with one of our recruitment specialists. This conversation is to ensure that your goals align with what we’re offering and expecting.

First interview

You'll meet with the hiring line manager to discuss your skills, knowledge, and experience, giving both you and Epson the opportunity to determine if the job is the right fit. The interviewer will also provide more details about the job, department, function, and organisation, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Second interview

Interviews are typically conducted on-site at one of our locations or remotely via Microsoft Teams, led by the recruitment specialist and hiring line manager. This interview allows us to evaluate your suitability for the job in more detail while giving you the chance to showcase your skills, knowledge, and experience through a competency interview and activity like a presentation or case study. You may also be asked to complete online ability assessments.

Offer of employment

The successful candidate will be contacted by a recruitment specialist to share and discuss the offer details and outline the next steps leading up to onboarding.

Onboarding

Our local HR team will get in touch with you to guide you through your onboarding journey, ensuring you have the equipment, resources, and system access needed for success in your new job.

Frequently asked questions

How should I prepare for my interview?

A good starting point is to research Epson. You can learn more about us on our About Epson page. The recruitment team will also provide additional information before your interview.

Are all interviews conducted online?

Not necessarily. If you’re invited for an interview, we’ll let you know the full interview process for that particular role, so you know what to expect. This might include:
• Online assessments
• A virtual interview
• A face-to-face interview

What if I need adjustments during the interview?

We are committed to providing an inclusive recruitment process for all candidates. If you require any support during an online or in-person interview, please let us know by emailing recruitment@epson.eu

What can I expect from the interview process?

You can find more details about our interview process on our Interview Process page.

What is a competency-based interview?

A competency-based interview, also known as a situational or evidence-based interview, allows you to share examples from your past work experience. This helps us understand how you might approach tasks and challenges at Epson if you are successful.

How should I answer competency-based interview questions?

We recommend using the STAR approach to structure your answers:

Situation: Describe a specific situation or challenge you faced.
Task: Explain the role you took and the tasks you were responsible for.
Action: Outline the specific actions you took to address the situation.
Result: Share the outcomes of your actions and what you accomplished.

This method helps you provide clear, concise, and relevant examples from your experience.

What should I wear to the interview?

We have a smart-casual dress code in the office when we're not meeting with customers or clients. Feel free to dress accordingly, as we want you to feel comfortable and show your authentic self.

What should I bring to my interview?

Please remember to bring your right to work documents to your second-stage interview. We need to see the original documents, such as passport, national identity card, or full birth certificate.
Please ask your recruitment specialist if you have any queries

When should I expect to hear back after my interview?

The timeline can vary depending on the position and the schedule of other candidate interviews. However, we are committed to providing feedback on the outcome of your interview, as we value your interest in joining Epson. We also welcome any feedback you have about our recruitment process.
