My documents are printed with a blank sheet of paper fed between printed sheets. How can I stop this?

  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 10
  • Blank pages

If blank pages form part of the document you're printing, these will be included with the printout. This is more common in a print from a word processing application.

Note:

This article deals with instances where the printer is printing ink onto the page and completing the print job, but blank pages are fed between pages or print jobs.

If your printer is not laying any ink down onto the page, see the following article for help:

My printouts are missing colour and/or black print

The first step is to check the document for blank pages. If the document does not contain blank pages, the problem may be related to settings within the application. Check the Page Setup settings in the application you are printing from to ensure that an option to print a separator page / blank page has not been selected.

Try printing again. If a blank page is still fed between pages or print jobs, there is a setting in the Epson printer driver which should stop this from occurring:

  1. Open the printer driver from the Devices and Printers folder.

If you require help with this step, see the following article: How to open the Devices and Printers folder in Windows

    1. In the folder, right-click on the Epson printer icon, then left-click on Printer Properties.
    2. On the General tab, click Printing Preferences.
    3. Click on the Maintenance tab.
  2. In Maintenance, click on the Speed & Progress / Extended Settings... button at the bottom of the window.
  3. Click into the box beside Skip Blank Page so a tick is beside the setting.
  4. Click OK to this window, and the other driver windows.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Once restarted, try printing again.

If the issue is not resolved after trying the above another possible cause is a setting within the Windows section of a printer driver. If this is enabled, it will send a 'Separator Page' to the printer. This can be turned off following the instructions below.

  1. Open the Printers folder (as described in the steps above). If you require help with this step, see the following article: How to open the Devices and Printers folder in Windows
  2. In the folder, right-click on the Epson printer icon, then left-click on Properties / Printer Properties.
  3. Click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Click on the Separator Page button at the bottom of this window.
  5. A small window will open. If anything is in the 'Separator page:' field, this has been enabled. Delete any text in this box then click OK. Click Apply at the bottom of the Advanced tab, then click OK.
