Power Saving (Sleep Timer) - Power Light/LED Behaviour

To save power, Epson printers enter either 'Sleep' mode or 'Power-Off' mode automatically if no operations are performed for a set period. The timer that activates this feature can be adjusted by the user.

Depending on the location of purchase, the printer may have a feature that turns the printer off automatically if it has not been connected to the network for 30 minutes.

Note:

For further information, please refer to your product's user guide.

Power-on light/LED behaviour when in 'Sleep' mode

The pulsing behaviour (fading in/fading out) of the power-on light/LED is normal. This is so a user can distinguish between the following:

  • Powered-off - Power light/LED not visible
  • Powered-on – Power light/LED is visible (static/remains on)
  • Sleep Mode – Power light/LED pulses

Entering 'Sleep' mode:

Once the sleep mode timer has been activated (the printer enters 'Sleep' mode), the power-on light/LED will slowly pulse (fade in and out of brightness) to indicate that the 'Sleep' mode is active.

Waking up from 'Sleep' mode:

To 'Wake' the printer from 'Sleep' mode, do one of the following:

  • Press one of the buttons on the control panel,
  • Touch an area of the touch screen (for products that have touch screen) or,
  • Send a job to print.

To adjust the timer period, please refer to the 'Power-Off' settings for your device. More information can be found within the product's user guide.
