How to install a Printer on a Wired Network for Windows and Mac

Getting started: Necessary software
Before the printer is able to communicate over the network, you will need to install the necessary software to control the printer and configure it for network use. You can download this software from the support website or install it from the supplied driver CD.

If you already have this software installed on your computer, move to "Configuring a wired network printer". Verify that the software is installed and then connect your Epson product to a network access point via an Ethernet cable.
Configuring a wired network printer for Windows

Click Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

- Right-click on your printer model, go to Properties or Printer Properties then left-click on the Ports tab.
- Click on Add port, a list of available port types will be shown, select EpsonNet Print Port and click New port.
- Your printer is shown on the next screen, select your model and click Next.

Select the type of IP address your product is assigned with in the below screen then click Finish.
- IP Address(Auto): Configure the port automatically. Select this port type if the IP address of the printer is acquired automatically.
- IP Address(Manual): Use the printer's IP address for the port name.
- HostName(DNS): Use the printer's host name registered in the DNS server for the port name.

If you are using a static IP address and your printer is not listed on Step 4, click Manual Setting then Next. In here you will need to enter your printer's IP address and click Next then click Finish on the next screen.
Note:
If you are unsure of your printer's IP address you can check this using the EpsonNet Config software; this is available on your computer if you installed your product using the supplied CD or you can download it from your product's driver and software page.
Open the EpsonNet Config from the Applications (Mac OS X) or Programs (Windows) folder on your computer. The IP address of your Epson product is displayed to the right of the model name in the EpsonNet Config window.
If you require to set a static IP address on the printer, double-click on the model name in the list and browse to Network Interface > TCP/IP > Basic, and specify an IP address to be assigned in the dialog that appears.

- In the Ports window, locate the EpsonNet Print Port you added. Click into the checkbox beside it to select it and click Apply.
- The printer driver is now configured for network use.
Configuring a wired network printer for Mac
- Click the
Apple icon and go to System Preferences then Print and Fax / Print & Scan / Printers & Scanners.
- If there are any versions of your printer listed in this screen select the printer and click the
button then OK to remove the printer.
- Click the
button and a list of available local and network printers appears. The port type is displayed to the right of the Epson model name and EPSON TCPIP should be displayed here. Click on the Epson listing and check the model name beside 'Print Using' is correct and does not include "Gutenprint", "Gimp Print" or "Ghost Print" in the name, then click Add.
- The printer will now be listed in the Print and Fax window and is ready to print.
